Serco at a Glance
Serco was floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1988. However our origins go back to the 1920s. Serco has grown substantially every year since flotation on the London Stock Exchange and was included in the FTSE 100 in December 2008. We are realizing double digit revenue growth and have a forward order book that stands at a record £15.1 billion. Serco's principal customer base is the public sector, representing over 90 per cent of our business.
The vast majority of growth has occurred because of our ability to deliver results and build long term partnerships with customers, extending the scope and scale of our contracts and winning new business.
With over 100,000 employees in over 30 countries around the world, Serco has grown to become one of the world's leading service companies. We work in partnership with our customers and staff to manage change smoothly and positively, and pursue continuous improvement relentlessly.
Our work ranges from the management of facilities, projects and IT systems, through to the creation of entirely new businesses. This includes the financing, design and build of new facilities, including hospitals and transport systems, as well as their day-to-day operation. We run world-class scientific establishments, and provide critical information to manage traffic, maintain buildings, operate railways and detain offenders
